Nuclear technology "Made in Germany" the topic of the last online lecture from
29 September 2023.

Contents

Germany's decision not to generate electricity from nuclear energy is not the same as abandoning nuclear technology. We have a nuclear industry that continues to set standards with cutting-edge products. We are a country of cutting-edge research that operates research reactors and participates in international nuclear research programmes.

Our unique scientific and industrial capabilities in nuclear technology, coupled with the "fascination of nuclear technology" that unites us, offer attractive future opportunities for decades to come.

Speaker

Frank Apel has been working in nuclear technology for 35 years. After completing his studies in civil engineering, he initially worked on German retrofit projects. His career then took him to the Ukraine and later to Sweden and Finland as sales manager for Siemens AG's nuclear power plant business. He then took over responsibility for international marketing and sales for AREVA's German activities. In his function as Head of Nuclear Service Germany, he was responsible for the dismantling business in addition to the business for existing plants. He then took over AREVA's key account programme in Paris, after which he was responsible for dismantling projects at ORANO Germany, which was in the process of being founded. Since the beginning of 2017, Mr Apel has been Managing Director of Kraftanlagen Heidelberg GmbH (KAH).
