The discussion on CO2 reduction and the war in Ukraine has led to a repositioning of nuclear energy utilisation in many European countries. The presentation will provide an overview of the current status of planning and realisation of nuclear energy projects in all European countries. The focus will be on "large" NPPs as well as SMRs and research reactors.
Speaker:
Dipl.-Ing. Uwe Stoll worked for Siemens KWU and AREVA from 1990 to 2016 and was most recently head of the "Engineering & Projects" unit at Areva GmbH, specialising in the following areas: Safety and accident control concepts as well as accident analyses for boiling and pressurised water reactors, investigation and evaluation of events in NPPs and commissioning of reactors. Among other things, he has been a member of the RSK since 2010 and is head of the RSK's "Electrical Installations" committee and President of ETSON (European Technical Safety Organisation Network).
