Together with over 100 scientific institutions in Europe, KTG has signed an open letter to the Vice-Presidents of the EU Commission, Mr Valdis Dombrovskis and Mr Frans Timmermanns, and the EU Commissioner for Energy, Ms Kadri Simson.

The subject is the EU Taxonomy Regulation on sustainability in energy supply and the role that nuclear energy can play. In the letter, the recipients are asked to follow the report of the "Technical Expert Group TEG" and to classify nuclear energy in terms of its environmental impact according to scientifically sound criteria and not to take political and ideological guidelines into account.
