From an engineer's point of view, nuclear power generation is a future technology as the current \"nuclear renaissance\" shows. Working in the field of nuclear technology means a high level of responsibility - in terms of nuclear safety, radiation protection, security of supply, \"eternal burdens\" and climate protection. Starting a career in the nuclear industry requires awareness for the responsibility and the \"purpose\" of the work. However, this is precisely what distinguishes nuclear energy from many industries and makes it so fascinating!<\/span><\/p>

So, what does it mean to be a \"nuclear generalist\"? How does the nuclear energy industry look like and how does it work? What skills do you need and how can you acquire them? How to make a career in nuclear energy?<\/span><\/p>

Speaker<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

Martin Pache<\/a> has been working for Westinghouse for 20 years. After studying and earning his doctorate in mechanical engineering, he initially entered the field of nuclear technology as a computational engineer. Further stations in his career included: Project Management, Customer Support, Technical Marketing, Quality and Safety. Many of these activities have also taken him abroad, in particular to the USA, South Africa and throughout Europe. Since the beginning of this year, he has been entrusted with the management of Westinghouse Electric Germany. The range of services provided by the German site in Mannheim includes service for operating nuclear power plants globally, as well as the dismantling of shutdown power plants, and the development of technologies for the treatment of radioactive waste.<\/span><\/p>
